Number of final celebration events in children’s sports schools followed the end of one more season in Ak Bars Hockey Academy. At the events devoted to closing of the season the students were awarded for their wins and prize-winning places in the Russian Championship for the Volga Region. Almost in every age group starting from 2007 year of birth, teams of Sports School for Children and Youth of the Academy were on the top of the tournament table of the final of the regional championship.

The academy graduates – Neftyanik JHL team – guided by Viacheslav Romanov and Sergei Mordvintsev – made a sensation having won gold medals of the Volga Federal District Championship. Barsy – trainees of Denis Gusmanov and Aleksi Ermolaev – took the second place. And in the Final of Russia Ak Bars took bronze medal having let the Ufa Salavat and Kapitan from Stupino to take the lead.

Neftyanik - 2002 also became a prize winner of the Volga Region Champioship. Trainees of Marat Nurmeev and Sergei Bazhukhin in final of the Championship took the lead in final series over the Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik having won three matches of five.

In the age group of 2003 year of birth the first and the second places were also shared by the Academy teams.

Here the absolute leader became Ak Bars –trainees of Lenar Vildanov and Evgenii Zakharov. Our boys were a core of the representative team of Tatarstan at the 8^th Saransk Winter Spartakiade of the trainees and brought home gold medals of the championship. At the Championship of the representative teams of the Federal Districts for boys born in 2003 the team comprised mostly of Ak Bars trainees took the second place having let the team of Moscow to take the lead. And in Final of the Russian Championship the boys took the third place having let the Omsk Avangard and the Moscow Dinamo to take the lead.

Neftyanik - 2003 became the silver prize winner of the Volga Region Final.

Three more Ak Bars teams of 2004, 2005, 2006 years of birth became the winners of the Volga Federal District Championship. Ak Bars in these age groups struggled for gold medal with boys from Almetyevsk.

Neftyanik surprisingly won the Volga Region final among the teams of 2007 year of birth, while the favorites were the boys from Dinamo. However, the champions of Tatarstan – Dinamo players – in Group Final of the Volga Region Federal District lost just once – in a game with Neftyanik. Ironically this was a crucial point in allocation of gold medals of the Championship.

Russian Hockey Federation recognized both schools within the Hockey Academy system Ak Bars and Neftyanik to be the best hockey schools in the Volga Federal District for the quality of training conditions and results of competitions.

One more sports school within the Academy system – Dinamo –showed a positive dynamics.

The first JHL team in the school history guided by Stanislav Bolshakov and Sergei Antonov could reach the play-off and take the 6^th place in final of the Volga Region Federal District. At that, unlike other teams having participated in the Championship, the boys did not have any support at the final stage of play-off series: the school does not have a team playing in the juniour league.

Team of boys born in 2003 raised from the seventh to the sixth place. From the tenth to the seventh place raised the team of boys born in 2005. And hockey players born in 2006 played in B group took the 1st place and won the Volga Region Cup.

Dinamo players born in 2008 who will start playing in the Russian Championship from the autumn, as well as Dinamo – 2007 became the winners of the republican competitions.

The season was completed. But since July the Academy trainees shall start pre-season preparation: young hockey players shall have training camps and summer tournaments in future.
